World War Z Gets A Release Date

It is beginning to get crowded in December of 2012. I am sure some of you are thinking, “2012? Surely, you mean 2011.” No, actually I mean 2012. With movies like Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, Gore Verbinski’s Lone Ranger and Philip Noyce’s Hunter Killer seem to be vying for your admission dollars, but there are only a couple of weeks in December anyways.
Well, it seems that Marc Forster’s zombie film World War Z will be making its Christmas debut on December 21st, 2012. While we are still talking about being eighteen months away, someone is going to have to change dates. Most studios, if not every studio, knows that The Hobbit will rule Christmas and as executives get better ideas of how the films turn out, schedules could change.
For those of you that remember, J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot was originally scheduled for Christmas of 2008, but they pushed it to summer of the following year and it did amazingly well. Somehow, I get a feeling that we could see The Lone Ranger move closer to summer. Hey, ain’t that the day the world is suppose to end? Now it makes more sense.
