Marvel To Offer Free Digital Codes In Ultimate Line

When Marvel announced that they were releasing digital copy codes with the new Ultimate Comics Spiderman for the first couple of issues, it made everyone fully aware that Marvel was going to try and push the digital download copies.

It seems that Marvel is going to push even harder come 2012. Marvel told ComicsAlliance that they will begin offering all physical Ultimate comics with a free code for a digital download. “As long as people start using the codes, that’s the best way for them to show us that they like this program,” senior VP of sales David Gabriel told ComicsAlliance. “And then that’s one of the better indications for us as to whether we want to roll it out more.”

Starting with Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #6, Ultimate Comics X-Men #7, and Ultimate Comics Ultimates #7 will arrive in the comic stores polybagged and all customers will be able to use the codes on Android and iOS apps and even on the Google Chrome app. Do you think this is a good idea to get people into using the digital comics?
