It seems that studio chief Bob Iger can’t contain his excitement about some of the upcoming things for his studio and the theme parks. Deadline is reporting that Iger let it slip that work is beginning on the sequel to The Muppets movie that was released late last year.
“Somewhere in my mind I know that work is being done on a sequel,” he said, before stopping himself. However he did mention that design work has begun on their Avatar attraction that is expected to open somewhere in 2015. The attraction is suppose to be built in the Animal Kingdom in Orlando.
Of course, after acquiring Marvel Studios, it wasn’t a forgone conclusion that they would start working on a way to work some of the super heroes into their theme parks in the way of attractions. Who knows, we may get to see Iron Man – The Ride or something of that sort.
Disney is reportedly “kicking around ideas” to enhance the presence of Pirates Of The Caribbean and Cars at their parks. “It would be tough to do walk-around characters” for Cars, he said. Not to mention that you can find a walk-around Jack Sparrow at any Halloween party or on Hollywood Boulevard. Just saying’.
