It has been a while since we had a major delay in any new comics coming out this year. Okay, granted the year is only over two months old but my point still stands. There has been some rumblings about Marvel’s new all-female volume of X-Men from fans but it seems that everyone will have to wait a bit longer to love or bash the comic.
Originally, the comic was slated to be released on April 17th, but Marvel has decided to push their release date until May 29th. “Yes, we’re changing the schedule for the X-Men launch,” writer Brian Wood said via Twitter. “This is to ensure we don’t need fill-ins. And it’s temporary, we’ll be back to normal within a couple months.”
Six weeks is a hefty delay for a comic, but it would be nice to get a run without any ‘fill-ins’ which usually ruin the momentum of a title that has a good start.
Still there wasn’t any official word as to why the delay was considered, but it probably means that someone was having some difficulty meeting their deadlines.
