Last week, PlayStation 4 owners had access to the private beta for Call of Duty: WWII. Starting today, September 1st, Xbox One owners will be able to access the second private beta of the game for anyone that pre-ordered the game for the first time.
Sledgehammer Games has given access to Xbox One users beginning on Friday, September 1st at 1 p.m. ET and it will end on September 4th at 1 p.m. ET. What is weird is that PlayStation users get a full week to beta test but Xbox One users only get a weekend. There is no scheduled beta test set for Windows PC users.
There are some of you out there that have chosen to not pre-order the game, which makes sense given the recent quality of gameplay regarding the franchise, and you have Comcast’s Xfinity Internet service can get access to the beta with a special code from the company here.
The beta includes three multiplayer maps: Pointe Du Hoc along the Normandy Coast, a forested area in the Ardennes that saw fierce fighting during the Battle of the Bulge and a map set in Gibraltar. Three modes will be available: Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint. There will also be access to the new War mode, a see-saw battle over multiple objectives in St. Lo, France.
Also included in the beta will be a glimpse of Divisions, WWII’s revamped class system of sorts. It will allow players to join either the Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored or Mountain Divisions which each have unique weapons and perks to unlock.
