DC’s Titans of Tomorrow Return to Rebirth

It seems that a decade has passed since Geoff Johns and Mike McKone introduced The Titans of Tomorrow during their run on Teen Titans. Starting in December Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason will bring them back in a crossover between Superman and Super Sons.

Both titles will tell the story of how Batman of Tomorrow has come back to eliminate Jonathan Kent before he can do something unspeakable. According to CBR, it seems that the solicitation for Superman #38 eludes to that fact that Batman will be bringing reinforcements in the form of his friends from the future.

Who are the Titans of Tomorrow?

They are the future version of the young heroes. They killed their mentors to become a new kind of Justice League. While they have not been mentioned at the start of Rebirth, this will mark their return. Not just of the Titans of Tomorrow but of Conner Kent, Cassie Sandsmark, and Bart Allen.

The story seems to continue the current story in Detective Comics “A Lonely Place of Living” where Tim Drake escapes Mr. Oz. In the story, he comes face-to-face with a future version of himself that rules Gotham with an iron fist.

It would seem that between now and the time of Batman of Tomorrow, the future has changed. As Tim Drake does not know Conner Kent, will Batman’s arrival spark the return of Conner and the others? Or, will it be changed due to Jonathan’s presence in this universe?

Arriving Jan. 3 from DC Comics, Superman #38 is written by Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, and illustrated by Ed Benes. It will feature a standard cover by Ivan Reis and Oclair Albert and a variant cover by Jorge Jimenez.
