If you were anything like me yesterday, you would have been surprised that it was the beginning of February. Why is that important, other than paying some bills or rent being due? If you are a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Gold Live member, that means new free games are available for you to supplement the money you spent on things like adulting.
For all you PlayStation Plus subscribers, you can download the ever-popular (I’m not sure for who) LittleBigPlanet 3, which was launches back in 2014. The game was originally released for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, but it is not a cross-buy title. That means that you can only grab the PS4 version for free this month.
Not a Hero, which was originally released for Android and PC in 2015, eventually for the PS4 and Xbox One last year is available this month. Some of the other games this month are Breakfall’s Starwhal and the Extended Edition of Dreampainters Software’s Anna are the two free PS3 titles, while Vita owners will get Tribute Games’ Ninja Senki DX and FullPowerSideAttack.com’s TorqueL.
Those with a keen eye probably notice that there are five PS4 games available this month. The reason is Starwhal, Ninja Senki DX and TorqueL are all cross-buy titles with a PS4 version available. The games will be available starting Tuesday, February 7th.
Now for something a little different, Xbox Live Gold members can start getting together their pull list for their Xbox 360 or Xbox One. Again, remember all free Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible with the Xbox One.
For the Xbox One in February, subscribers can grab Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime for free during the entire month. On the flip side, Project Cars Digital Edition will be available for free from February 16th through the 15th of March.
On the Xbox 360 side (and Xbox One), starting on the first, Monkey Island 2: Special Edition will be available through the 15th. As of February 16th, you can pick up that old classic Star Wars: The Force Unleashed through the end of the month. Which is February 28th.
