August would not be complete if there was not any news about the yearly introduction of a new iPhone. 9to5Mac received leaked photos of a dummy version of the iPhone 7s Plus. While the look of the phone essentially seems the same as previous models, it does seem to be sporting a new glass back, as opposed to their traditional aluminum casing.
The glass back, according to the report, would be considered to support inductive charging – also known as wireless charging. As reported earlier, there will be an event in September, they always have one in September, and are expected to announce the 2017 iPhone 7s and 7s Plus as well as the reveal of the redesigned iPhone 8.
The rumor for the iPhone 8 is to be significantly more expensive as well as featuring an all-new chassis design, edge-to-edge OLED display and other features which include wireless charging. The 7s models will include A11 processors and a base model of 64GB storage, which is the base model for the Samsung Galaxy S8.
According to the report, it seems that their new wireless charging will not be available when the stores hit shelves. It seems that they will be activated when the future iOS 11 update happens. It seems that there is a software issue which is being blamed for the delay.
