Michelle Williams In Talks For Sony’s Venom

With production slated to begin next month, Michelle Williams is in talks for Sony’s Venom. This will be a major coup for the studio if negotiations are completed. According to Variety, sources claim that she would play a district attorney and be a possible love interest for Tom Hardy’s character.

According to the report, director Ruben Fleischer has been speaking with multiple actresses for the past month. Production is slated to begin next month. There is early Oscar buzz swirling about her upcoming performance in Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World.

The upcoming movie is not part of the Spider-Man cinematic universe, which is linked to Marvel. It will be a standalone film, which will be confusing. In the comic origin of Venom, it was the original black costume of Spider-Man. After being rejected by Peter Parker, it became evil and fed off anger. Quickly became one of the web-slingers famous villains.

Scott Rosenberg (“Jumanji”) and Jeff Pinkner (“The Dark Tower”) will write the script for “Venom,” with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal. Palak Patel and Eric Fineman are overseeing the project for Columbia Pictures.

Venom is slated to arrive in theaters on October 5, 2018.
