Red Dead Redemption Delayed Until Fall

If you have been following our podcast, The Lazy Geeks Podcast, we have been talking about Red Dead Redemption since the beginning. Over the last seven some years, we have heard rumors of the sequel. Since it was announced last year that the sequel would be out, all we have been doing is waiting. Well, according to Rockstar Games, we will be doing some more waiting around for it.

The game was original scheduled to be released during fall of 2017. However, in usual Rockstar fashion, the game was delayed until Spring of this year. It wouldn’t be a Rockstar game if it wasn’t delayed until the prime time of October of this year. That is right. Red Dead Redemption 2 has a new launch date of October 26, 2018.

Rockstar said in a post on Thursday:

Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that is a fan of Rockstar. There isn’t a game in recent memory that was released on time. However, it is usually better to wait for a perfect game, than release an imperfect game just to make a release date. Although, we are sure the internet will view it from a different point of view.

In the meantime, they gave us some new stills:
