With the release of the new Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, it would seem that Samsung is dropping the price of their Samsung S8 and S8+… in India. As part of the Navratra fesitivities that began last week, Samsung is dropping the price of the S8 and S8+ as part of Samsung’s Navrata Special offer.
According to Gadgets360, The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ prices have been cut by Rs. 4,000 – which should bring them down to Rs. 53,990 and Rs. 60,990 respectively. The company adds that HDFC Bank customers get a cashback of Rs. 4,000 in addition.
The price cuts came ahead of the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which started shipping on September 21st. The price cut, which is only in India, was to promote sales prior to the major festival that begins to celebrate the start of Autumn.
The Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant has also been reduced, by Rs. 1,000 – bringing the price down to Rs. 64,900. In addition, the Rs. 4,000 HDFC Bank cashback applies here as well. Both devices launched in April, so this marks their first major price drop. The 6GB RAM variant of the Galaxy S8+ has received two separate price cuts already.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8, that was launched with the 64GB option only, is Rs. 67,900 in India. It will be available in Maple Gold and Midnight Black colors options. For those of you in the United States, you can see all you need to know about the device here, but without the price cut.
