After being teased all weekend with three various movie posters for Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, many woke up to the release of a second trailer that details more of the story about the upcoming movie. This time, we get to see more about the relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker, which matches what came up in the comics during Civil War. Not only that, we get to see more of Michael Keaton which is great any time.
In this trailer, we see how Peter wants to be just as important and big as The Avengers. Even more so, he wants to be a member of the team. Stark, still worrying about people getting hurt, tries to teach him some restraint but that backfires and loses the upgraded suit. This time, we get to see some Keaton and his motives for doing whatever it is he is doing. Much like the comic, we see Peter struggling to make a difference but it does come at a price. Remember, when all is said and done, Peter is still a teenager and will make teenager decisions.
While some people online are already complaining about the amount of Stark in the movie, I think people need to calm down. Remember, if it wasn’t for Robert Downey Jr’s original portrayal of his spirit animal, Marvel would not have the force that it is now. So much so that people compare it against the struggling DC cinematic universe. As we have seen, Tom Holland is a great Peter/Spider-man and a movie that gives us RDJ and Michael Keaton in a comic movie – take my money!
