There have been reports that Wilson Fisk would be returning again to Daredevil. After the events in The Defenders, it seems that Hell’s Kitchen is open for the taking. Not to mention the reports of Born Again being the possible story arc of season three. However, everything has remained up in the air but now we have some clarity.
Erik Oleson will take over the title of showrunner for the third season of the series. That makes three different showrunners in as many years. He was a writer and producer for the CW’s Arrow during their third season, which brought on metahumans. Oleson had also written and produced for Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle. So he has some decent pedigree.
It seems that everyone’s favorite crime boss will, also, be returning in the third season. Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk. “Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk,” says executive producer and Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb, adding, “We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson.”
There is no release date for the third season but it is expected to be released in 2018. Currently, we have The Punisher debuting in November and Jessica Jones’ second season has already gone into production. That series is expected to drop early in 2018.
