Even Wonder Woman has limited power against the force. More like they don’t wish to tempt fate. During the San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, it was reported that Wonder Woman 2 would debut on December 12, 2019. However, a lot has changed in the last few months and has shifted its date. The new date for the film will be November 1, 2019.
There has been an unsubstantiated rumor circling Gal Gadot’s reprisal of the character over the weekend. We have chosen not to discuss it since it came from a tabloid-ish source, based on hearsay. However, Gadot had already signed on to reprise her role and that would be hard to break.
According to the Los Angeles Times, it seems that story was simply used to get clicks. According to the site, Brett Ratner’s company RatPac-Dune’s financing deal would expire in the spring of 2018 and was not expected to be included in the sequel.
Some of you may wonder why the date was switched. Well, back in September, Colin Trevorrow was dropped from directing Star Wars IX. During their search for a new director, J.J. Abrams had decided to return and the release date was shifted from its May date to December. This put Wonder Woman 2 in the crosshairs of the final Star Wars installment.
Wonder Woman has immense power, but the power of the force could be stronger. With the film coming out in November, at this point, there is zero competition for the film. Also, they would have nearly a month and a half to dominate the box office. Primarily, with Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot returning, it should dominate that box office for a great deal of time.
