Attack live-streamed on Twitch

Aside from the fact that we are having to deal with mass shooting on a daily basis, but this particular fucktard failed to achieve his primary goal – to kill a lot of Jews. Outside a synagogue in Halle, Germany, the anti-Semitic attack live-streamed on Twitch. Twitch confirmed to CNBC and The Verge that the attacker had posted the video to the platform.

“We are shocked and saddened by the tragedy that took place in Germany today, and our deepest condolences go out to all those affected,” said a spokesperson. “Twitch has a zero-tolerance policy against hateful conduct, and any act of violence is taken extremely seriously. We are working with urgency to remove this content and permanently suspend any accounts found to be posting or reposting content of this abhorrent act.”

The attack live-streamed on the service for about 35-minutes. It shows a man shooting two people and failing to break into the synagogue. He gives a brief speech to the camera, talking a bunch of bullshit about Jews and denied the Holocaust even happened. You know, a traditional fucktard with access to weapons.

As many of you remember, in March, the mass shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand, was streamed on Facebook Live. This will undoubtedly call into question oversight of these streaming sites for objectionable content. Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, is trying to keep copies of the shooting off their platform. However, it is unclear how many copies of the stream were archived and spread to other platforms.

The anti-Semitic attack live-streamed on Twitch, only goes to show how a few deranged people can destroy a platform for a majority of people. Extremism researcher Megan Squire reported that the video was also spread through the encrypted platform Telegram, with clips being viewed by around 15,600 accounts. Expect to hear and read a lot of talking heads asking for companies to do stuff about this. The honest to God truth is, what can they do?
