It is always interesting when you go somewhere to promote your current work, you always seemed to get hijacked about your previous work. While promoting his Dynamite series Red Team, Garth Ennis’ interview led him back to one of his more beloved runs of The Punisher.
Ennis has written some of the most acclaimed stories of the past 20 or so years, but it seems that the man will be coming back to the title that earned him many followers.
“I will be starting work on another ‘Punisher’ miniseries quite soon, that’ll probably come out sometime next year,” Ennis said on the podcast. “That’s at the very early stages.”
Some of you may remember his first shot at the character back in the 1995 one-shot Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe. After that, he has done several series for both the main Marvel Universe and the mature version MAX line of comics.
CBR reached out to Marvel for comment on the new series, but they simply replied with a “stay tuned.” I guess we will have to do that. I don’t know about you, but I am happy to hear he is returning. I am a big fan of his semi-origin story in Born and Punisher: The End.
