Look Like Blizzard May Be Remastering Their Classics

Blizzard Entertainment has recently posted a job listing asking for a Senior Software Engineer. This engineer will be tasked with helping restore Blizzards classic titles such as StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II. Basically getting these titles working on more modern systems.

No, seriously, I’m not kidding this is happening and yes it is as great as it sounds.

“Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation,” Blizzard said.

“We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.”

While I’m sure someone has hoped this would happen there has not been any word about remasters of Blizzard titles until this moment. There really aren’t any details past what I’ve already said but if we can get modern versions of Warcraft two and three, StarCraft and Diablo II the world will be a better place.
