To put it bluntly, there is a new Tomb Raider game coming. Square Enix announced via Twitter on Thursday. The publisher did not give any specifics or even drop the title of the game. According to their Twitter post, Square Enix is taking a different approach to announcing games.
“Driven by our goal of putting our fans first, we want you to know that it won’t be very long between the official reveal and when you can play,” said Square Enix. The company added, “Our journey together will begin with a major event in 2018.”
It is obvious that they are planning this game to coincide with the release the Tomb Raider, which stars Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, and is being released in March 2018.

The major question is which studio is working on the game. Crystal Dynamics had been working on the previous games, but is working on an Avengers game. Late October 2016, rumors surfaces that Thief and Deus Ex studio Eido Montreal was working on it. The rumor, also, indicated that the title of the game would be Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
I thought something was off about the way they worded this. The first letter of each sentence spells out “shadow” when put together. Shadow of the Tomb Raider! https://t.co/o0QvDvdY7J

Game historian Liam Robertson, who has too much time on his hands, claims that they spell out the word “shadow” with the first word of each sentence. You take that as you will.
