One thing the Grand Theft Auto franchise is known for is their epic soundtrack. The games always have a great lineup of great songs to listen to that reflect the era the game is set in. Grand Theft Auto 5, the upcoming addition to the series, isn’t going to be any different with “20 movies worth of score.”
Soundtrack supervisor Ivan Pavlovich says this is the largest soundtrack Rockstar has ever done. “We approached the radio stations as the musical soundscape [you experience] as you fly into L.A. One of the things we’ve never done in a GTA game before is a pop station; exploring that made so much sense in the context of L.A.”
It’s not only music either with famous names hosting some of the stations that populate Los Santos’ airwaves. Pan Grier hosts a soul station, Nate Williams hosts a rock station with Stephen Pope and DJ Pooh hosts a rap station.
Another standout addition to GTA V’s soundtrack is custom-made music. Rockstar, for the first time ever, has gotten together with music creators to bring some fresh new sounds to the game. Aussie band Alchemists, rapper Oh No, Woody Jackson and Tangerine Dream are some of the talent that will be moving you along the game through music. Its deep man.
