When people ask, “don’t you feel sorry for those people?” In certain circumstances, I would say no. Like people of the MAGA cult, you voted for this. Much of the same would go to anyone who willing purchased Fyre Festival 2 tickets. Anyone that purchased those tickets, knowing that the original was a huge scam, deserves what they get. Because it won’t be a music festival that was promised. Ever.
Those of you that rolled your eyes at the announcement of the sequel to two documentaries worth of content won’t be surprised to hear that Fyre Festival 2 is postponed. Not canceled. Postponed. A little more than a month away from the start of it, according to ABC News, organizers sent a message to customers stating, “The event has been postponed and a new date will be announced. We have issued you a refund. Once the new date is announced, at that time, you can repurchase if it works for your schedule.”
The festival was supposed to go on May 30 through June 2. I was immediately shocked that they announced it wasn’t going to happen. Yet.
The facts that they were refunding money for tickets already purchased was a new twist. Maybe that stint in jail for head, Billy MacFarland, told him had he done this the first time, he wouldn’t have ended up in jail.
Fry Festival 2 is Canceled
As you can see below, the prices for this thing was insane. They didn’t even offer accommodations, unlike the first event.

As of this writing, there is not announcement on their website. The site is the same as it was before with the image that was originally shared, as you can see below:

The site looks as if business is usual. However, when I tried to click to purchase tickets, nothing happened. Just like the original klusterfuck, the organizers didn’t even have a location. MacFarland said they had two different sites in Mexico but the authorities in both locations claimed they knew nothing about it.
I won’t be surprised if it is officially canceled toward the beginning of summer. Or, in MacFarland fashion, he will push it off until 2026. However, if you get scammed again, look to somewhere other than the internet to find empathy. As in the original incident, you won’t find it there.
