If you followed us on the socials, you probably remember like two weeks ago I canceled The Lazy Geeks episode due to being ill. Since then, I had been working on episodes for 2AM Doomscroll and the returning Gen-Xer Pod. Not to mention formulating my latest season of Great American Sh*t Show. I will be able to say this, all shows will return starting next week.
The only show that is working on a weekly basis is The Lazy Geeks given that it is about the recent week in geek culture. Yet, the main topic isn’t so much, which has led me to attempt to get around doing the entire episode toward the end of the week. I have been working on getting the featured topics written earlier, so all I need to do at the end of the week is headlines and the opening. Shows will return on Monday, May 6, 2025.
2AM Doomscroll is a definitely shorter podcast than the others. I have three episodes written and done, so I will be able to be ahead. This is something I have always tried before but I get into my head – and fall behind. The first episode of this new show will drop on May 8, 2025, and continue every Thursday.
If you’ve been keeping score, you probably saw that I said “returning” in regards to The Gen-Xer Pod. The reason I originally decided to let it go was some outside voices that told me the reason it was lagging was the title. Many consider “Gen X” a bit of a controversial concept. While many younger listeners don’t want to hear from “Boomer Lite”, many Gen X didn’t like it because I was not a certain color baseball cap wearing person.
I decided that I would do this for myself. I tweaked it to cover events that happened during the course of my life. Everything from the LA Riots, Oklahoma City, and various other incidents from my lifetime. As well as discuss topics in which I think many in Gen X failed to do. We were the punk rock, skater, anti-authoritarian generation. Somehow many ended up kissing and sucking on the cock ring of billionaires.
I’m one of those people that believe we have ALWAYS been allowed to say “Merry Christmas” and say whatever we want. The problem is that many of those that say we couldn’t are idiots. However, many of them aren’t about freedom of speech, they are about freedom FROM consequence. New episode will return Wednesday, May 8, 2025.
Lastly, Great American Sh*t Show will return. Sort of. I am working on a new series within the show, like I originally did when the show started. However, to prep people for what I am going to do, I will begin re-releasing the original “The Modern GOP: How We Got Here” series starting Friday, May 9, 2025. I will re-release the entire series, then start the new series in July.
The idea of this show is changing. I’ve begun to think that it would be better to do more short-run miniseries during the year with breaks in between. This will allow me to do deeper dives and improve the production value of the show.
That is the schedule going forward. As this is a difficult time for me personally, you will be able to read about it later, I figured if I took some time off it should be done for a good reason.
