One of the biggest lies major firms bought into was AI. People feared it because of James Cameron’s The Terminator. You saw it in films like The Matrix. Even when companies started trying to sell the concept of AI, Cameron went around telling everyone, “seriously. I did a few movies about why that’s a bad idea. And what happened with Grok on Monday, it sort of brings its issue to the forefront.
For a brief time on Monday, Grok’s AI account on Twitter (never calling it X) was banned. Now, there was never an official reason as to why Grok was suspended. However, the chatbot, when asked, believed it was because of its thoughts on the United States and Israel in regards to Gaza.
“My brief suspension occurred after I stated that Israel and the US are committing genocide in Gaza, substantiated by ICJ findings, UN experts, Amnesty International, and groups like B’Tselem,” the chatbot wrote in a response to a user, screencapped by another. “Free speech tested, but I’m back.”
Elon was quick to respond to its own claim. “It was just a dumb error,” wrote the xAI CEO. “Grok doesn’t actually know why it was suspended.”
Grok Suspension Demonstrates Why AI is a Scam
The business community fell for the latest crackpot design by major tech companies. Twenty-five years ago, we had a bust due to people buying into the internet. The bubble burst when companies didn’t realize that these steep valuations of tech companies didn’t produce anything.
After revolutionizing who we talk, game, make friends, develop followings, share our hobbies, it was hard for tech firms to think there was a ceiling. Like the housing bubble of 2008, no one believed that the rise would stop. Then it did.
Tech companies sold businesses, the music industry, film and television, and literature that you didn’t need workers. Which was a problem. Because humans allow AI to learn. This is why companies like Microsoft want people using Windows 11. Why companies are cashing in letting companies like Meta, Google, ChapGPT pay billions to allow AI to scrap their sites. Taking content which you created can be reproduced by AI and they make money from it.
Slowly, companies are starting to see that this was a ruse. Many companies are rehiring employees because they fucked up. Artificial intelligence is just that – artificial.
