The Road for 2026

If you have been following for the last year, you know it was difficult. To say the least. The road to 2026 looks a bit different than it did in 2025. It started with the fires of Los Angeles and my dog of 13 years, River, passing suddenly. This is where I think life finally broke me. As the year went on, I was unable to get employed. My water and power were shut off. To top it all off, it seemed that I would be homeless by spring of 2026.

Fortunately, someone stepped in and agreed to house me until I got back on my feet. The downside (figuratively) is that I would have to relocate from California to Arizona. A thought I would’ve dismissed a year before seemed like the only real option I had left.

Having been here for a month, there is still some adjustment needed.

What does the road for 2026 offer?

Obviously, obtaining even part-time employment is high on the list. Now, I am in a place that has stable internet, with hot and cold running water. There are quite a few remote positions available. While not having large bills to pay, some of the burden is taken off my shoulders.

However, I am restarting my blog and podcasts. Much of this is due to needing something to do during my downtime. This keeps me from getting in trouble and sitting alone with my thoughts longer than I should be.

This was River

Going forward, regarding the podcasts, The Lazy Geeks will be the only show going weekly. All the others will move to bi-weekly. That is until any start to take off, and that plan can change. The Lazy Geek will still look at the news of the week, and separate fact from fiction. Why you shouldn’t listen to memes and actually read the articles.

Returning will be The Gen-Xer Pod and Great American Sh*t Show.

Both shows I think are kind of important now. Great American Sh*t Show is needed in ways to look at our society. Not just in terms of news, but motivation behind it. Why the media gives too much credit to the MAGA base. As well as why are we not asking different kinds of questions and rebuff lies.

The Gen-Xer Pod is taking a different route. Season two will be a redirection. Yes, I will be going into history and experience from someone that has actually been there. Saw it play out in real time. However, I will be using that experience to help younger people. I see all the manosphere douchebags and why are we listening to them for relationship advice.

Many claim it’s gay to do anything with a woman. Yet, they claim women owe you everything and you owe them nothing. Some say it’s “gay” to do something she likes, or that they are more “straight” because they don’t have sex with women. Bro, you’re gay. I hope to break through with serious advice from someone that has actual experience.

Anything else coming back?

Yes. Pop Culture Cinema will return. I will pick up from where I left off. The show just got started when my electricity was turned off. So, two episodes were the only offerings. I will resume with Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

One that is returning is a show that only dropped one episode: Apostate of Mind. A couple of years ago, I left my evangelical Christian belief behind. It changed a lot from when I joined when I was eight years old in 1981. I didn’t leave the religion, it left me.

Now, the show will not try to force anyone to change their mind. It is geared toward people that are having a crisis of faith. Validating their doubts about their beliefs. Having doubts is normal and anyone that says otherwise is not. If your religion is the highest authority, then why can’t it stand up to a little criticism? It will follow my views and issues that led me here.

Also, if you would like to help me keep the blog and podcasts self-sustaining, you can help us out with a donation. It is just Oliver and I on this road for 2026. Join us and follow us through this new journey. Blogs are dropping this week, and podcasts will begin next week. See you then.
