“Till he’s ninety,” is what Deadpool said about Disney using Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. This turned out to be true when talking about Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Stewart, based by online reports, has claimed that Avengers: Doomsday will be his final acting turn. What a great way to go out in a major franchise in a major movie. However, the actor has made no such admission in video or print.
Less than a year until its release, Marvel has been ramping up teaser trailers for their various heroes. Steve Rogers and Thor have had their own. X-Men was reported to be the next, and it arrived this morning.
Of course, the only thing people are talking about is Cyclops in his official uniform and his icon blast. Many speculate – because it is the internet – that he will get the respect he deserves. Given what Marvel did for Wolverine, this could definitely be the case. But everyone needs to manage expectations.
Avengers: Doomsday X-Men trailer gets to where it needs to go
We see a grim present for the X-Men and the school. It is obvious that Marvel is setting up to bring the Fox universe into the MCU. Much of what people missed when viewing Deadpool & Wolverine was it wasn’t a fan service movie entirely. It was a love letter to the Fox Marvel Universe. It was Marvel paying respect to its past and not trying to bury it like Warner Bros does with its film franchises.
People need to stop with the fan theories. No one likes the people that say, “called it”. Get one right and the internet calls you an “expert”. Throw enough shit against the wall and something will stick. People need to see what they offer and base their judgment on that. I would rather it be good than I be right.
