Figuring Out 2026

Figuring Out 2026

If you didn’t see my post on social media, I stated that there will not be a new episode of The Lazy Geeks. There is a reason for it. Also, if you didn’t see the post, what is wrong with you? For the longest time, I lived under instability. Food instability. Housing instability. Internet instability. Much of that is what helped my depression get a strong hold on me. Now, that much of that is removed, what is left to do? That has left me in trying to figure out what to do for 2026.

This is where I say that I would like this to take off. I do. One of the things that holds me back is just who do I want to be. Anyone that does this isn’t 100 percent themselves. In much of Reich-wing media, they are playing characters that are trying to corner the market. Drum up engagement with clickbait or rage content.

That isn’t my bag. While I am Generation X, I don’t pretend to be what you see in those memes. I don’t consider my generation the last great generation. Nor do I consider it to be a great one. They like to forget that Millennials played outside too. They drank water from hoses. Got to ride around the neighborhood without their parents worrying about them. Same for many older Gen Z.

Figuring Out 2026 is Figuring Me Out

I know I discussed this in the first post back, but discovery is part of the process. There is no indecision about what shows I’m going to do. Well, there is still a debate about one that is new. It’s more along the lines of when to release it. Much of it comes down to how do I want to be.

Too many times I find inspirations from other shows and get motivated. The downside is that I end up making a cheap version of that show. The true test of doing something you can feel proud of is finding your own voice. I do want to give out facts. Not just facts that I agree with but ones I don’t. Don’t discount them when they don’t fit the narrative that I’ve constructed.

As the old saying goes, “if the law is on your side, argue the law. If the facts are on your side, argue the facts. If you have neither, slam your hand against the table.” Much like with religion, if your narrative doesn’t hold up to facts, maybe it isn’t what you thought it was.

What Am I Getting At?

I want to discuss things that interest me. Things that will interest others. Challenge the facts within the story. Drop some cold water on conspiracy theories. But I want people to be able to disagree with me but respect my opinion. Open peoples eyes to a wider canvas. But in my way. I will make inappropriate jokes. And if liberals or MAGA-hatters can’t stand it – the door is to your left.

I will listen to people with expertise in certain subjects. Not a guy that made a YouTube video that is putting up the drywall at the new McDonalds. Also, more people need to step outside and touch some grass. That sort of commentary will be reflected not just in the podcasts. My posts on here will need to reflect it. There has to be some uniformity. As I did in the last Lazy Geeks episode, I will google search things I see on social media. Something I encourage you all to do.

This is what you can expect to see in the coming days. Right now, I am retooling my scripts for my podcast to reflect the new tone. The direction of the shows will remain the same. What is changing is the way I deliver it. It is never too late to make a change. I found that out the hard way this past year. Now, I am more secure and pushing to be more… me.
