It is pretty rare that a cast of a television show sees episodes released from a year ago. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season four will be one of those shows. The cast and crew wrapped season four during the middle of 2025. They came back a few months later to complete their fifth and final season.Strange New Worlds season 4 trailer was quietly dropped over the weekend.
While many fans were divided over the flow of the third season, the upcoming season looks like a return to form. There will be a silly episode in this season as well. We have heard of a puppet episode. There are some thoughts about whether it will deal with the aftermath of Pike parting ways with a love interest. However, knowing where the original series started with, is this a complete surprise?
The upcoming episode does feature Kirk, again. This is the one consistency that always bugs me. But the Kelvin timeline did the same thing. In the Original Series, Kirk said that he only met Pike once. But, they already dealt with this issue during the Khan episode from season two. With many time travel episodes, it does tend to change things.
Strange New Worlds Season 4 Trailer Drops
Based on the trailer, we see there is a Wild West-like episode and even dinosaurs.Doctor Who had a dinosaur episode, so why not? Wondering whether the writers knew the fifth would be their last closing out season four, if any will crossover into the final season. Whether or not, the episode will do an Enterprise time-jump leading to Pike’s eventual promotion and fate.
I’ll be honest, that would seem a bit fitting. Given that the series started with Pike’s impending dread of his own future. As always, I’m so looking forward to it. Hopefully, you are too. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on July 23, 2026, on Paramount+.
