We’re remodeling. So excuse the dust. Things have been going on. I know, I’ve said these things before. A lot. I have said them a lot. As I’ve gotten older, I have been open to new ideas. Concepts. Even concepts of concepts. I think the biggest reason for that is that I’m not totally happy with the old “new concepts”. One of the biggest issues is that I am not happy living in this new state. I miss home. The job market is bad. When you’re older than 50, you are less desirable. That tends to influence all the other things I’m doing.
Nothing seems to be exciting me anymore. I love doing The Lazy Geeks podcast and blog. However, with the news landscape the way it is, I find myself caring less and less about it. I tried doing the podcast where I stopped doing stories about AI. Just looked at doing stories that most people probably want but flies under the radar. Primarily drowned out by AI news.
Given the attention those stories and episodes are getting, no one seems to want that either. So, I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do I just ditch the whole thing and maybe start something new? Just end it and stop it all together?
Remodeling The Lazy Geeks may be necessary
I have decided to suspend the podcast for a short time. Part of the remodel has something to do with an announcement that is coming. The podcast will come back. But it will change. It is a good change for me and longtime listeners. The scheduling will change and so will the show itself. No longer will it be constructed around news. I won’t get into too much right now, but I will later.

Also going on pause is The Gen X Construct. I will be replacing it with a more geek related podcast. Figuring out the brand of the show comes around every few years. For the amount of years, we’ve been around, the shows should be in the thousands of episodes. But things and people change. Sometimes you can fight the tide or just go with it.
It will be more movie related. I will be doing some reviews, discussions, or just complaining about what people get wrong about the industry. Also, explaining many things that they insist is correct but is not.
If you are worried about Great American Sh*t Show, don’t be. They will still be coming out this summer. It will be probably the only non-geek related thing. Definitely will piss some people off. Especially if you subscribe to the fascist, MAGA ideology. Now, that doesn’t mean I will be taming down my opinions. Fuck that. However, it will fall in line with those “you know the show is cool but it needs to stay out of politics”.
As for the Blog
I still want the blog. The fundraiser is still going on to move our blog to another self-hosted company. The current contract for this one comes to an end July. Worse case scenario, we migrate back to our free-hosted WordPress.com site. It is not ideal. So many limitations, but I’ll do what I have to do.

Obviously, the bog will be the hub of all the shows. Where you can see all the shows that are under “The Lazy Geeks Network”. Even if we don’t brand them. The blog is important for keeping people updated about what is going on behind-the-scenes. Like this post. But, I will be posting blogs about things that I’m observing in the geek world, as well as some opinionated news stories that I need to speak on.
Based on the visits, I could go total clickbait and say things that will increase engagement. Be disingenuous. Bad faith opinions. Unfortunately, for me, I can’t do that. Whether you like them or not, these are my actual opinions. Since I’m not a bomb thrower, our content doesn’t get much attention. I’d rather be honest with myself, than make money not.
That is it for now. I’ll update more of the new direction when it comes. The site them will change. Most likely be more like a blog but less of a news format. I hope you will help us out with either donations, getting the world out, or following us on social media. Thanks for now.
