The big news just keeps dropping. This is a huge one. The Lazy Geeks has a Patreon now. Crazy, I know. This came after some thought behind the new format. Adam and I are recording our shared episodes in advance before they are released. Since much of my solo content will be deep dives into larger issues, it isn’t time sensitive. Some may be, but most will not. Same with The Disgruntled Cinephile. Many will be done well in advance, so they will be ready before their release dates. This is where The Lazy Geeks Patreon became an option.
There are three tiers, starting at $5 a month.
Noob: That is the $5/month tier that allows you to receive both shows without my trailers or by pleas for donations. Not only that, you will receive access to those episodes a week before they are released for free.
Casual: Gives you the same benefits as the Noob tier. But you will get access to the entire series of Great American Sh*T Show miniseries on day one, a couple of weeks before they are released in a weekly fashion on our podcast feed. These episodes will, also, be ad-free.
Hardcore: You will receive all the benefits of the previous two tiers. You are just a superfan and wish to support us in the best way possible. Honestly, we don’t expect many (if any) people to sign up for this but that is what we have for now.
That doesn’t mean we won’t offer Patreon exclusives later on.
The Lazy Geeks Patreon is the Only Thing
Along with that, we will be releasing audio versions of the podcasts on YouTube. The difference will be the YouTube versions will be a week behind the traditional podcast episodes. For example, The Disgruntled Cinephile will be releasing its first episode on Thursday via Apple Podcast and Spotify. However, YouTube will only contain the trailer of the podcast. Next week, this week’s episode will debut. Same with The Lazy Geeks.
With Great American Sh*t Show new season coming this summer, I will release the original miniseries via YouTube. For people that want to check it out. Again, these are just audio only episodes. We will do some video shorts and maybe some solo episodes will come out in video format.
I hope you guys can support us on many, if not all, of our ventures. Also, we will be removing Zelle from the donation page. However, if you would like to make a one-time donation, you still can through Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal. Links to these new areas are available in the “follow us” section to the right or shownotes of the podcasts.
