It seems like all I do now is change things. However, since things are kind of soft for us right now, I don’t think too many people will mind. The biggest issue has been the main show. With Adam coming back, I thought it would be okay to do a bi-weekly show with him. Then, I could pick up and do a bi-weekly news show. However, doing two things on a bi-weekly basis seemed convoluted to the concept of the show. People discovering it and wondering if its a news show or just two dudes talking. I figured out what the issue was.
The deep dives. I tend to restrict myself into what I can cover on the main topics or deep dives. There was no chance that I would discuss AI news. It’s on my social media feeds. YouTube is constantly recommending videos about how it’s on the verge of collapse. I just don’t want to get into it. Has too much of that crypto and NFTs from 2020. So, I concluded that doing a news show isn’t too hard. So I would do that show every week. Then add the Adam and mine like a bonus episode of the week.
Starting this Monday, the old news focused Lazy Geeks will return with news of the past week. Episodes will drop every Monday. Then, the following week, when I release the bi-weekly episode, that will come out on Fridays. Make sense?
Starting Monday, I will discuss the news of the past week with my commentary. Then on August 28, the bi-weekly will drop on its regular Friday spot.
The Lazy Geeks Podcast Major Change
As far as the Patreon goes, the Monday episodes will be available on Friday or Saturday before the Monday release. However, the bi-weekly episodes will drop the Tuesday before.
Now, for YouTube, there is a bigger shift. The episodes will no longer be a week behind. They will drop on the same day as the Apple/Spotify version drops. This will make things easier to keep track on a release schedule. To be honest, the week before with Patreon and the week after on YouTube started to confuse the shit out of me. Work smarter, not harder.
I was planning to do video versions of some shows, but that will be on hold for now. Working with janky ass equipment, I need to save up some money to upgrade my equipment. My laptop is too weak to render video. Now, my Zoom recorder is starting to give me issues. That needs to be upgraded. If you would like to help me out, you know what to do.
Okay, so that is the plan for that series now. I have some other changes, but I will discuss those when their launch (or re-launch) date gets closer. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I’ll discuss the method of my madness in a later post. Thanks for humoring me.
