The trailer for the re-release of Avengers Endgame has dropped today. It was reported earlier this year that this would happen before the release of Avengers Doomsday. This re-release version, Avengers: Endgame Encore, will have four additional minutes and will have footage that links it to Doomsday.
The trailer is nearly entirely comprised of the last major battle of the movie. Let’s be honest for a minute, that is the moment we all remember. The trailer even includes audience reaction from when Black Panther returns through the portal.
This is one of those movies that I personally wish I could go and experience again for the first time. Along with a few movies, if I had a genie offering me three wishes, this is what I would definitely use one of those wishes one.
Avengers: Endgame Encore Trailer Drops
“It’s critically important to re-release the movie, and, in fact, we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the Doomsday story that we have added to Avengers: Endgame,” co-director Joe Russo said during an appearance at Sands Film Festival (via Deadline).
Russo added, “We can enhance the story of Doomsday by bridging it to Endgame.”
Encore’s confirmed runtime of 185 minutes suggests we’re getting four minutes of bonus footage.
What that additional four minutes may include is anyone’s guess. You can bet the Doomsday sub-reddit is full of its own theories. Many of them will be garbage and they will complain when their theory doesn’t play out. Or, they will come out with some backbending reasoning why it did happen but they didn’t show it.
The internet can be exhausting sometimes. Not to mention the social media chuds that will complain about how come they didn’t show anything new in the trailer. Much less saying this is all nostalgia bait.
Avengers: Endgame Encore is out in cinemas on September 25.
