Paramount Plus has been on the “boycott list” for various reasons. The way their news organization reports on Gaza, neck beards calling it woke, and various other reasons. As of this weekend, many people are calling for a boycott of the streamer due to their handling of the 60 Minutes piece that aired on Sunday.
The takedown by the program’s host, Scott Pelley, blasted his own network for meddling in their news organization. This came after the Bill Owens resignation from the network due to feeling that he was being monitored for the content that they report on. In essence, they don’t want to piss of the orange clown. Not because they want to make him happy. No.
It is because they need government approval for their upcoming deal with Skydance.
Earlier in the year, the network was bogged down in a $10 billion dollar lawsuit brought on by the Trump administration for what they called an “edited” interview with Kamala Harris before the election. He claimed that they edited the interview to make her look “coherent”. Which is rich coming from a guy that uses words but not in the manner that they weren’t meant to be used.

Eventually, at the request of the FCC, CBS released the unedited transcript of the interview, which showed that they edited Harris’ 140-word “word salad” about Gaza into an “succinct 56-word reply.”
This exchange led to an offer to interview Elmo Musk on John Stewart’s The Daily Show. Musk said – like he said he would fight Douche Zuckerberg – that he would do the interview as long as it was aired unedited. Stewart replied that all his interviews are unedited. A date was set, and in typical fashion – Emo Musk backed out. Stewart called out Musk and his excuse as “bullshit”.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not defending Paramount Plus. Their app is garbage and the UI sucks donkey balls. I canceled my subscription in June of 2022. However, there was a glitch when I canceled it, but my card was never charged again. Even got the cancellation email. Yet, for some strange reason, I still can access the account and content.
Earlier in the year, people were complaining about tech bros and corporate leadership was bending the knee to Trump. Afterwards, I began hearing lawsuits that many of them were facing and then their motive became clear – bribe Trump to get the heat off their back.
However, in the case of Goggle and Meta – which was always a sore spot for Trump – those cases are moving through as normal. There is a threat that Google and Meta may have to break up their empire to settle the case. Trump hasn’t lifted a finger to help them, which would be the “find out” portion of FAFO.

It’s the same thing with Paramount. “Still, it’s one thing to focus on journalism, say three other people familiar with the show, and quite another to have scrutiny added by Paramount as it navigates its way toward a critical acquisition of its assets by Skydance Media,”Variety reports. “The deal would add fresh capital to Paramount’s operations and help controlling shareholder Shari Redstone maintain her family fortune.”
Trump is one of the most corrupt presidents in recent US history. Big business is trying everything they can to curb Trump’s favor and allow them to do whatever they wish. However, with the self-inflicted trade war, no knows what the hell he is doing.
It should not be mistaken that I am defending, in any way, Paramount or tech bros. I’m not. However, it is important to drop some information about why all these businesses are aligning themselves with Trump – which is why many companies donate to Republican and Democratic candidates – because they believed he could help them out with their business dealings with the federal government.
But they don’t have Emo Musk’s role. He gutted every agency that had an issue with him and any of his companies. Guess they didn’t need to suck up to Trump. But to Elmo.
