Last week, we mentioned how Take-Two wasn’t sitting on their hands with this leak. As many sites are focused on the GTA 6 gameplay leaked footage, we’re not. To be honest, it isn’t that exciting. However, the company filed for another subpoena but this time kept it sealed. They dropped their one against Google, claiming they no longer need it. The other servers they requested from Discord is sealed so no one will know who its targeting.

The company stresses that its investigation “is rapidly evolving and ongoing,” which is also why the second subpoena seeks “different information” than the first.

“Take-Two has identified one additional Discord user and obtained additional identifying information for a previously identified Discord user, as well as additional information concerning the community servers identified in its prior subpoena for which it now seeks more targeted information,” the request reads.

Take-Two files for more subpoenas

“Public disclosure of this information could compromise Take-Two’s ongoing investigation and even tip off the alleged infringers as to the nature and progress of Take-Two’s investigation and information Take-Two has gathered about the infringement,” the company writes.

It makes sense as to why they would not want to let the leakers know what they are looking for. There is still debate on whether it is one or a small group leaking the footage. It is noticeable that Take-Two used the term “leakers” in their filing.

Why it dropped the order against Google is interesting. They wanted information against these channels: CyberLeeks, Surfer24k, and CyberLeek_ar_io. However, the judge refused to sign the order without knowing what the leak was between them and the video.

“Take-Two has determined it no longer needs the particular information requested. Thus, Take-Two respectfully withdraws its subpoena request,” it informs the court. Take that as you will. Either the information was weak to say the least, or they didn’t need the information at all.
