Tell me if you heard this one before, this is the trailer for The Gen-Xer Pod. Yeah, I’ve decided to try this again. I’ve tried to make this series about one thing or another. In one instance, I wanted to make this about giving my fellow Gen X a dose of reality. The other was to bring some of our experiences in life into real history. Not the one we perceive to have experienced.

Too many times, I hear things like “we were the last great generation”. That is usually followed by someone complaining about the youth. We have become the boomers that judged us when we first made our way into the world. Not only do they believe the 90’s was ten years ago, but that Gen Z are still kids.

The eldest Gen Z person is 30. The youngest is 16. Drinking out of a water hose is not the flex they think it is. Nearly setting your house on fire because you were alone at age 9, is not about toughness. Or self-reliance. But my bigger issue is if you hate Gen Z, who do you think raised them?

The Gen-Xer Pod is more than complaining

I want to take listeners through times that we experienced. That doesn’t mean millennials or boomers didn’t experience them either. Some of the things we experienced were bigger than they seemed. Some were a lot smaller than advertised.

As a child, I was told that someone would kidnap me if I went too far from home. The fact that no one did haunts me. It probably influenced my insecurity about myself. Split will be me complaining about my peers. Others will be discussing our history. We were called the MTV generation. The punk rock generation.

Unfortunately, many of them sided with the bullies of all those anti-establishment movies. Episodes will drop every Friday on your podcast app of choice.
