Every time any of you see that The Lazy Geeks is changing, you are probably thinking about how the site is changing. Well, this time, it’s the actual podcast that is changing this time. Fooled you, didn’t I? Anyways, this week things get different and in a good way. At least, in a good way for some of you. The show is divided into two sections now. “The Headline Show” and the “Discussion Episode”. That is pretty self-explanatory, yeah?
Go forward, the Monday shows will be “The Headline Show”. This will be the recap news episode that will focus on the news stories of the past week. Due to getting episodes out in advance for Patreon, we will cover news up until that Friday morning. As it was this week, new episodes will be out on Friday for Patreon, then on Monday for Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
The bi-weekly show with Adam and myself will drop every other Friday. These episodes are recorded well in advance, and they will be available on Patreon on Tuesdays. For everyone on Apple Podcasts and Spotify will see them on their feed at midnight eastern.
The Lazy Geeks Podcast Changes a Bit
As for the YouTube versions, they will still be released the following day as before. So, “The Headline Show” will drop on Tuesdays, while the “Discussion Episode” will drop on Saturdays. Again, you can have early access to them on YouTube the same day as the original free audio versions.
One thing that is changing for the moment is the “Discussion Episode”. For some reason, we have a tough time keeping them to about an hour. That was the original intent when we restarted the show. However, they come out to be between 80 to 100 minutes. The free Apple Podcasts and YouTube versions will be edited down to an hour, including in-house ads.
If you would like the longer, uncut episode, you can get it from our Patreon with the $7 Casual Tier. Or, you could grab the episode alone for $5. So, if you want to grab those longer episodes without signing up for a full tier, you can grab them individually. There will be no YouTube version of the episode as a Patreon exclusive or otherwise.
That is it for what we have with this show. The Disgruntled Cinephile, nor my upcoming show, will have such set-up. Again, if you would like to support us keeping this network self-sustaining or get us a self-hosted site, you can sign-up for Patreon or donate the normal way. Thanks again, and see you on Monday.
