As I have explained before, we started this blog and podcast back in October of 2010. The domain was started back in May of that same year. It took a few months to get things together and figure out what we are going to do. Our first podcast episode is still up. All our podcast episodes are available on Apple and Spotify. Well, anywhere you can get the podcast. Next month, our anniversary is coming.

In October of this year, we will reach our 17th podcast anniversary, and 16th birthday of the blog. I know there are some people that are not good with math, so let me explain. When you start a podcast, like a TV series, you can’t have a season zero. You immediately start with season one. Which would make this upcoming season, number 17.

However, with the anniversary, or birthday, you have a zero year. You don’t reach one until you have completed twelve months. When the blog launched, it was year zero. I know some people won’t accept that answer, but that tells a lot more about them than us. I don’t make the rules.

As we returned to a self-host site, it has given me a reason to look toward the upcoming year. That means things are different than I initially expected when I said we were taking a couple of weeks off to catch up.

Our Anniversary is Coming Soon

This has given me a reason to pause things a bit longer. Way back in the day, we would sometimes take September off then come back in October with a season premiere. That is kind of what is happening now.

Posts on the blog are returning as of this week. After moving the site over, I sort of burned myself out and got a little sick. Didn’t post much over the last week, but that ends now. With the holiday on Monday, it felt like the best time.

Our official anniversary is October 10, that is when we launched our first episode. That is the time we, also, launched the blog. Obviously, we no longer have the stories from our first blog but someone said you can see it on the wayback machine. I don’t know. I never really looked.

The Disgruntled Cinephile will return on September 17, but everything else will drop in the first week of October. If you would like to drop some cash to help us celebrate, please do so.
