Sony has lost a lot of goodwill with their fans. Since their lawyers are mocking the concept of game ownership in court, people took it personally. Like Michael Jordan personally. Since purchasing a game means you don’t own the game. Maybe they will understand making a console doesn’t mean you own the console. At the same token, emulators have always been a hit-and-miss kind of thing. Some working really well like KytyPS5 or SharpEmu, but there is a limitation to them. Much of the limitation comes from the libraries that are available. However, someone created one by skipping the biggest hurdle: the emulator part. AnyPS5 takes out the emulation to allow you to play it on Windows or Linux.
The open-source project, AnyPS5, claims to run PS5 games natively. You can play it on Windows or Linux without requiring any emulation. “The official GitHub page describes it as a tool for automatically porting executables to Linux and Windows”, according to Tom’s Hardware.

TweakTown reports, AnyPS5 now supports roughly 96 percent of its tracked PS5 GPU shader instructions. In other words, it’s making strides towards the goal of allowing any PS5 game to run “natively” on a PC. Just last week, it was at a mere 50 percent.
AnyPS5 is about to give Sony some headaches
Now, before you start downloading thinking you can play the upcoming GTV VI, slow your roll. While it currently supports about 96% of its tracked PS5 GPU shader instructions, but that does not mean 96% of its games are ready. “Its system library function coverage is 79.14%”, TweakTown states. Many “individual games still require other functionality to work correctly.”

Sony has been pulling back on ports to PCs. Many have been claiming their greed is the cause. Essentially, keep people in the PlayStation ecosystem, and force them to purchase a console instead.
If no one has purchased a PS5 console by now, they either don’t have the means or won’t purchase one. Now, it remains to be seen how long they can operate until Sony’s legal team comes down on them. You know they will. We’ll keep an eye on it for the time being.
