Unlike Obama, Bill Clinton was one of the most moderate Democrats the United States had seen until the election of Joe Biden. After losing the election of 1992, many Republicans wanted revenge on Bill Clinton. Being able to withstand sex scandals, much like Trump, plus a spoiler candidate in Ross Perot, George HW Bush didn’t have a chance.

With the rise of Fox News, and the dismantling of the ‘Fairness Doctrine’, people were able to say whatever they wanted about whoever was in charge.  That is what he faced in his two terms in office. Republicans not only obstructed his proposals but tried to tear him down personally.
