A little over three years ago, a small Apple TV came to an end. Back in 2023, Ted Lasso ended its three-year run with “So Long, Farewell”. It was originally served as a series finale. During the press tour for season three, Jason Sudeikis stated that they had an original three-season story arc. When asked if there could be a season four, he didn’t say no, but they had to have an important story to tell. Much like we saw with Shrinking. They had a three-season story arc. With season four coming, they are moving with a new storyline. Now, we know when Ted Lasso season 4 will return and got a teaser for it.
There appear to be a lot of returning favorites. Hannah Waddingham returns along with her Dutch bloke from season three. Juno Temple and Brett Goldstein return. Maybe there will be an evolving storyline there. Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift returning as some of my favorite characters. New additions inlcude Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
Ted Lasso Season 4 Gives Clues for What is in Store
What people may not have noticed in the clips, Michelle and Henry. This could explain that we won’t be retreading concepts from the last series. My theory is that Ted decided to return only if Michelle and Henry come along, not wanting to repeat the mistakes before. Apple describes the story as “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Personally, I have been missing this show. Repeat viewings help me get through the current state of our society. That along with rewatchs of The West Wing and Newsroom. I’m excited to see what season four has in story, which you can stream on Apple TV+ starting August 5, 2026.
