Very seldom that fans get what we want. After watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, I never wanted Nicolas Cage to play a “Spider-Man” character in my whole life. Yet, we got it. In the Amazon series, Spider-Noir, Cage plays a gum show named Ben Reilly. Not to be confused with the character of the same name that was a clone of Peter Parker. Apparently, there’s conflicting stories regarding the change, but whatever. Amazon released a Spider-Noir black and white trailer for the upcoming series.
One of the things I appreciate the most is that you get two option on viewing the series. The series will give you the option to watch it in boring True Hue, which is color. Or, a true purist, can watch it in black and white. As God intended.
If you viewed the comments of the trailer’s YouTube channel, it is fun. Everyone saying that no CG was used in the series. It was actually Nicolas Cage swinging around New York. Knowing his method, I wouldn’t be surprised. I made the comment that he actually was bitten by a spider to prepare for the role. For me, Cage’s over-the-top mannerisms are perfect for a comic-based series.
Spider-Noir Black and White Trailer dropped
For me, I will watch it in its black and white glory. Much like watching Logan, I purchased the version that gave you the color and black and white version. It looks amazing in the black and white format. The release schedule is a bit weird.
Spider-Noir premieres on May 25, 2026, on MGM+, with all episodes becoming available on Prime Video on May 27, 2026. The premiere occurs on Memorial Day, but the rest of the episodes drop in the middle of the week. They should have dropped it all on the holiday, so you have something to binge. That’s just me.
