The anniversary week comes to a close. Was attempting to figure out what I was going to do for the finale. Back in 2010, we recorded our first episode on October 10. Managed to turn it around and have it released the next day on October 11. It has been sixteen years since that afternoon. Our lives were so much different, yet not. Feeling sentimental, I decided I would remind people that our first episode is still live.

You’ll be able to see that not a lot has changed since then. Our sense of humor hasn’t changed. The way we do the news and discussion isn’t any different. Also, you can see that not much of the news has changed. Sure, the names attached have. However, the elements of the movie are about the same.

We had been laid off our e-commerce company. Adam was spending his days at my house, while waiting for his kid’s school day was over. He mentioned that we should do a podcast, in between watching episodes of Community, Black Dynamite, and reruns of Star Trek.

The Lazy Geeks First Episode End Our Anniversary Week

Some of my favorite moments within the episode were discussing Geoff Johns. The former head of DC was discussing how they didn’t want to follow Marvel in movies. Also, Adam’s three douchebags of the week were hilarious. They still make me laugh hard to this day.

Did I ever expect to still be doing this show in 2026? Nope. In fact, there were many times when I thought or tried to do something new. The problem was that I still felt drawn to it. Maybe it’s due to the fact that this is our first baby. Which holds a special fondness for me.

Eventually, we both move on. I think most of it comes to me. Bringing Adam back on – even at a limited capacity – made the show fill in a missing piece. But for right now, I don’t have a plan to leave it behind. Just yet. I may rebrand it at some point. For now, I’m staying put.
