The week has arrived. It’s our anniversary week. Back in 2010, The Lazy Geeks launched with the first podcast on October 11, 2010. Sixteen years and 486 episodes later, we have gone back to the well. Sort of. You can’t keep doing a thing without changing a bit. Over the years, we have tried changing things up. Even trying to carry the show alone was tough. It never felt the same without Adam being involved in some aspect.
However, with him coming back, it has given me a new sense of purpose. Still allowing some changes to take place but sort of keep the band together. While I know most people don’t give a shit, this is what gives me purpose to create. As my original goal for life did not pan out, the internet has allowed me to do it in a different way.

The reason this is our anniversary week is due to a few days before we dropped our first episode, we launched the blog. I purchased the domain back in May, and we started with the free version of WordPress. Back then, you could map your domain for a yearly fee. It was pretty cheap. Eventually, we migrated to a self-hosted site.
Anniversary Week is upon us
Now, you have to purchase one of their overprice plans to map your domain. While their cheapest price is $50 for a year, it limits you in so many ways. It isn’t worth it anymore. However, given how a self-hosted WordPress site is – there is some consideration of moving away from it. Being a creature of habit, change is annoying. Not hard or fearful. Just hate learning new procedures.

Moving forward with this brand is near and dear to my heart. There should be more consistency going forward. Excuse me while I knock on wood. We are pushing to make this something bigger than what is has been. Maybe it’s too late for that. Maybe it’s the right time for it. In any case, we want you to be a part of it. Help us celebrate our anniversary week with new episodes of The Lazy Geeks, The Disgruntled Cinephile, and Great American Sh*t Show.
Thanks for being a part of it.
