On January 6, 2021, supporters of the outgoing president, Donald Trump, stormed the Capitol Building in hopes of overturning the election. Preventing the era of Joe Biden from beginning, and keeping the current president. Many people claimed that this is the result of Trump and his legacy. The bigger issue missed the point immediately. The founding didn’t begin with Trump. It began nearly sixty years ago with the campaign for an Arizona senator, Barry Goldwater.

This series will focus on how the modern GOP became what it is. A science denying, fake news, alternate facts cult than a party of an alternative to Democrats. They became a party of huge government, socialism for elites, and sexual predator protectors.

The Modern GOP series has been released before on another podcast I attempted. It tracks the road to the modern GOP from Barry Goldwater through various incarnations that set up the rise of Donald Trump. This seven-part series will precede a follow-up, which will cover the Biden era into the second term of Trump.

The upcoming episodes will look at building blocks set up by the years before. We will see what the Reagan Administration started. Which led to the Rush Limbaugh era. Through the Clinton years. George W. Bush and the rise of the Tea Party.
