This is called cutting it close. The debut episode of The Gen X Construct has arrived. The podcast that will focus on debunking not only the “Generation X” thinking, but all generational thinking. Generational Dysmorphia is what I call how we view our own generation. It is rarely objective. Even more so, rarely accurate.
The concept of shitting on younger (and older) generations is an old time tradition. Going all the way back to the 4th century BCE, we find writing about how the younger generations are soft. The concept itself is flawed because things change. Just because you dealt without indoor plumbing doesn’t mean new generations don’t know struggle.
While so many with Gen X like to say they aren’t involved in the generational war, their comments and views online say something different. Beliefs that we were the last great generation. The last ones to not be offended. It is either not true, or many are making up for it now.
